Default Unable to connet to anet

I cant seem to connect to anet at all, the game just stucks at "connecting to anet 0%" and stays there. The internet is fine...well im posting here arent I? My computer hasnt changed, only difference I think of is I'm now connecting in US rather than in Canada, but that shouldnt make a difference should it?

Check your firewall. Try turning it off - if that works, then you can try to figure out how to get GW to work with it on, which usually only involves telling the firewall to allow GW to pass through.
I had the same problem with Windows firewall - it was blocking GW but wasn't popping up a box asking me if I wanted to allow it. (dunno why) I turned it off and never got around to trying to make it work.

To the op: usually a problem with connecting physically is due to a firewall blocking access into Anet servers, so I agree with Quaker.
